Boggabilla drop-in session for Inland Rail North Star to Border project
The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is hosting a drop-in information session in the Boggabilla and Toomelah region for the community to learn more about the North Star to Border (NS2B) section of Inland Rail.
January 16, 2023
The drop-in information session will be held on Tuesday, 17 January 2023 at TAFE NSW Boggabilla, South Street, Boggabilla NSW, between 10am and 1pm.
The NS2B section of Inland Rail connects North Star in New South Wales to the Queensland Rail South Western System on the NSW/QLD border.
The project involves upgrading non-operational rail line and building new track across the Macintyre River, allowing for future connections to Goondiwindi and the broader region.
The NS2B project is currently in the reference design stage, which involves conducting studies and consulting with landowners and other key stakeholders to better understand potential opportunities and issues around the Macintyre River crossing.
More information on the community session can be found on the Inland Rail website.
Inland Rail Delivery Director (Central) Heather Parry said:
“To assist community members in understanding key information on the NS2B section of Inland Rail, we are hosting a drop-in session in the Boggabilla and Toomelah region.
“This information session is an opportunity for local communities to meet members of our Stakeholder Engagement and Indigenous Participation teams to talk about upcoming opportunities to be involved with Inland Rail.
“Community members can also come along and ask any questions they have about the North Star to New South Wales and Queensland Border project.
“We value community input and we encourage people to come along on Tuesday.
“Local communities and businesses are already seeing the benefits of Inland Rail through Phase 1 of the Narrabri to North Star Inland Rail project.
“As of October 2022, more than 660 local residents had worked on Inland Rail and more than $209 million had been spent with local businesses and suppliers.”
