Cementing a legacy Beyond the Track
Since we entered the Narrabri to North Star region back in 2020, ARTC Inland Rail and our contractor Trans4m Rail has not only provided employment and training opportunities for hundreds of locals, we have also given back to individuals, groups and businesses and become valued members of the community.

As construction winds down, we’d like to recognise two examples of community spirit and commitment to leaving a legacy beyond the track.
Moree flood
In October, an army of workers from Trans4m Rail and ARTC Inland Rail volunteered to assist the Moree community to prepare for an unprecedented flood event. We filled and delivered sandbags, built levies, set up evacuation centres and provided non-stop assistance to the SES and local council as the flood waters continued to rise.
Once the flood peak levels dropped and it was possible to access the Moree township, Trans4m Rail volunteer crews could be found cleaning public foot paths, roads and infrastructure at various locations around Moree. Staff also offered a helping hand to people returning to their flood ravaged homes, removing carpet, damaged electricals and furniture and hosing out garages, sheds and driveways.
Despite the trying circumstances, it was a monumental effort by Trans4m Rail and ARTC Inland Rail and all other services involved in the evacuation and recovery works. Our thoughts are with those communities still recovering from this historical event.
‘Beyond the Track’ Community Assistance Fund
Trans4m Rail’s Community Assistance Fund aims to generate meaningful and lasting benefits for all communities along the Inland Rail Narrabri to North Star alignment. Overall, Trans4m Rail has provided $100,000 worth of funding to not-for-profit organisations with 46 groups successfully receiving some funds.
The fourth and final round of funding was recently announced with various initiatives, events, programs, projects or service delivery activities receiving support. Congratulations to these well deserving organisations:
- Narrabri District Cricket Association
- Gurley Community Group
- Narrabri & District Community Aid Service
- Bellata Common
- Moree Public School P & C
- Pallamallawa Hall Committee
- Kamilaroi Connections
