Inland Rail is replacing the Broadford-Wandong Road bridge in Wandong to provide sufficient height and width clearances to allow the safe passage of double-stacked freight trains.
Updated visualisations of the bridge highlight wider traffic lanes for motorists, safe pathways for cyclists and pedestrians, improvements to the Rail Street and the Epping-Kilmore Road intersections, and an extension of the community garden.
Inland Rail, and construction partner John Holland, will undertake a month-long community engagement process from Monday 24 February to gather feedback on the latest designs.
The Broadford-Wandong Road designs can be viewed, and feedback shared until Monday 24 March by:
- Visiting the Inland Rail website
- Talking to the Inland Rail team:
- at Crumbs & Co cafe on Mondays, 10am-1pm
- at the Magpie Stump Hotel on Friday 7 March, 5.30-7.30pm
- outside the Wandong Primary School, St Michaels Church carpark on Thursday 13 March, 2.30-4.00pm

Justene Cowie, Inland Rail B2A Manager Stakeholder Engagement and Communications said:
“The latest designs have incorporated previous community feedback, including improved safety at the Rail Street intersection and connecting pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.
“Pickett Walk and the community garden are also extended in the new designs.
“The Wandong community have played an important role to shape the plans for the bridge and surrounding areas and they will see their ideas and suggestions from previous community engagement in the updated designs.”
