Senior Project Manager – Engineering, Assurance and Technical Services

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in a role that blends leadership, collaboration, and technical excellence?

Inland Rail is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Engineering, Assurance & Technical Services (EA&TS) division. Reporting to the Head of EA&TS, you’ll play a key role in shaping outcomes across Australia’s largest rail initiative. 

This is a dynamic, people-focused role where you’ll work across diverse teams and projects, helping drive efficiency, innovation, and high performance. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts, challenge and assure designs, and champion solutions that balance safety, technical integrity, and commercial value.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinating across project teams to meet Inland Rail and ARTC objectives
  • Reporting on progress, technical risks, design reviews, and construction challenges
  • Preparing board-level papers and engaging with executive leadership
  • Leading change management and continuous improvement across engineering practices
  • Fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture that supports growth and innovation

About you

You’re a confident communicator and strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment. You bring a positive mindset, strong organisational skills, and a passion for solving complex challenges.

What you’ll bring:

  • 15+ years in major infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in rail design and delivery
  • Engineering degree and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to engage diverse teams and present at executive level
  • Experience across government and private sectors (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Inland Rail documentation and ARTC certification (desirable)
