Kemp Street bridge, Junee various utilities relocations
Between February to August 2023, various utilities contractors will undertake early works on Inland Rail’s behalf to relocate gas, water, telecommunication and sewer services in the vicinity of Kemp Street bridge, Junee.
Work being done
These early works have been assessed through a Review of Environmental Factors under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
We want to reassure residents that starting these early works now does not mean approval has been given for major construction to begin on the Albury to Illabo section.
Completing early works before the Albury to Illabo project obtains approval from the Department of Planning and Environment means we can start major construction more
efficiently once approvals are issued.
Overview of early works
- Relocate existing and install new gas pipelines between Railway Parade and Edgar Street
- Relocate existing and install new water mains between Edgar Street and Seignior Street to connect to existing services
- Relocate existing and install new telecommunication cables and cable pits under Kemp Street
- Install a new sewer main under Kemp Street.
When are early works occurring?
Delivery of each section of early works activities will be sequenced to minimise temporary traffic and other potential disruptions for local residents.
