The B2G section of Inland Rail starts at the New South Wales/Queensland border connection to the Queensland Rail Southwestern System and travels through Southern Queensland to Gowrie on the outskirts of Toowoomba.

This section includes building approximately 138km of new dual gauge track and upgrading approximately 69km of existing track and will connect to the ‘missing link’ from the New South Wales side of the border.

The project is currently in the reference design stage and the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is being refined.

Information stands will be on display at the following shows:

  • Millmerran Show, March 4 and 5, 2023.
  • Pittsworth Show, March 10 and 11, 2023.
  • Inglewood Show, March 17 and 18, 2023.
  • Toowoomba Royal Agricultural Show, March 30 and 31 and April 1.
  • Goondiwindi Show, April 28 and 29, 2023.

Inland Rail Delivery Director (Northern) Ed Matthews said:

‘We are taking Inland Rail to a wider audience by attending local shows across the region. Rural shows are a once-a-year opportunity to reach a broad cross-section of these communities in an informal manner where they are out enjoying their day.

‘These show day stands are a chance for local community members to meet members of our Stakeholder Engagement teams and other Inland Rail staff to talk about the project and upcoming opportunities to be involved with Inland Rail.

‘We encourage community members to drop by our site and ask any questions they have about the project. Many of our staff on these stalls also live in these communities and would love to have a chat.’
