Temporary closure Docker Street pedestrian bridge, Wangaratta
McConnell Dowell has been engaged by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) to undertake construction for the Inland Rail project.
Work being done
Docker Street pedestrian bridge will be closed 7am-7pm on Friday 26 May.
McConnell Dowell are undertaking works to install new signal network cabling throughout the Wangaratta Station Precinct, including a section under the Docker Street footbridge.
The closure is required to ensure public safety and minimise movement of the bridge during excavation works
What can I expect?
- Docker Street pedestrian bridge closure (between 7am-7pm)
- no pedestrian access across the Docker Street footbridge during these hours
- safety exclusion zones will be set up with temporary fencing at bridge entrance ramps at Spearing Street and Docker Street ends
- pedestrian detour signage from the Docker Street pedestrian bridge to Cusack Street pedestrian bridge will be in place
- general construction noise can be expected.

Pedestrian traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all pedestrians where required.
