Traffic cameras and counters help plan ahead for construction impacts

To help understand traffic volumes ahead of construction starting on Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 sites, our contractor John Holland undertakes traffic assessments using cameras and counters.

Traffic cameras are used to inform traffic management plans ahead of construction starting.

We’ve heard the community want us to minimise the potential impact to traffic during construction works.

These strategically placed small cameras and traffic tube counters capture data that inform traffic management plans and help minimise impacts and disruptions during construction.

The assessments can monitor vehicle, cyclist and pedestrian movements and are located at significant intersections, bridges and along local routes.

Small cameras are attached to existing signs or stand-alone structures and can be used with road laid traffic tube counters, to track traffic over multiple weeks.
All data captured is securely stored until the data is retrieved and camera footage is only used to understand the number of movements through intersections at each location.
