The village of Bellata, located between Narrabri and Moree, services around 530 town residents, visitors and people from local farms. Along with the post office, fuel station and primary school, the golf and sporting clubs provide spaces that facilitate social connections and help drive community wellbeing.

Bellata Golf Club offers a multitude of pursuits to keep locals active, including hosting functions, meetings and events. Inland Rail’s funding will be used to upgrade the venue’s existing kitchen facilities to ensure they are fit for purpose.

Berrygill Creek Sporting Club has been active for 50 years and for the past 15 has served as an important community hub for locals to meet and have a BBQ each fortnight.

Inland Rail’s funding will contribute to the purchase of new tools and equipment which can be used at regular working bees on site. This will benefit members as previously they have supplied their own tools and equipment for the working bees.

Inland Rail’s Community Sponsorships and Donations program has now issued more than $1 million in funding for community groups across the entire Inland Rail alignment, with 19 organisations in the Narrabri to North Star region receiving grants in the latest funding round.

Inland Rail offers funding between $1000–$4000 for individuals and organisations in regional areas along the Inland Rail route that contribute to local and regional prosperity, wellbeing and sustainability.
