What to expect in 2022

2022 is set to be an exciting year for the North Star to NSW/Queensland Border project as we progress towards environmental approvals and construction.

Two Narrabri to North Star staff

We’re continuing to work with the New South Wales Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) to determine the draft conditions of approval for the North Star to NSW/Queensland Border project and we expect a response from the Minister for Planning by mid-2022.

We will share more information as it comes to hand, but in the meantime, you can follow the project’s Environmental Impact Statement progress here.

2022 will also see our preferred civil works contractor, Freight Connect, become more visible in local communities along the project alignment.

These are some of the things we’re looking forward to in 2022:

  • continuing to work with our wonderful communities
  • getting out and about more as border freedoms increase
  • ‘meet the contractor’ forums for local businesses and suppliers
  • the opening of a Freight Connect shop-front
  • early and enabling works by the end of 2022 (pending DPE approval).
