Service investigations – Edmondson Street, Wagga Wagga (rescheduled)
From August to September 2023, specialist contractors will undertake additional investigations on behalf of Inland Rail to locate and map underground utilities near Edmondson Street.
Work being done
These investigations have been assessed through a Review of Environmental Factors under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
We want to reassure residents that starting these investigations now does not mean approval has been given for major construction to begin on the Albury to Illabo section.
They will however enable major construction to start more efficiently once approvals are issued.
Overview of investigations
- Drilling of exploratory holes to confirm locations of utility lines.
- Backfilling of drilled holes to restore ground condition.
Sites access roads used
Specific access requirements will be handled directly by the contractor.
What can I expect?
Minimal machinery and equipment operating on site.
Machinery used
- Drill rig,
- utility light vehicles and
- vacuum truck.

Access to residential properties will be maintained at all times.
