Beaconsfield Parade bridge works
From 18 to 20 March 2023, our contractor McConnell Dowell will commence construction works for the new Beaconsfield Parade bridge in Glenrowan.
Work being done
McConnell Dowell will undertake piling works for the new Beaconsfield Parade bridge. These works include drilling deep into the ground to ensure strong foundations for the new bridge.
What can I expect
- Construction noise during the day and night
- Beaconsfield Parade bridge reduced to one lane with traffic lights to manage traffic flow
- Beaconsfield Parade closed between Siege Street and Church Street
- Beaconsfield Parade bridge traffic speed reduced to 40km/h
- Use of generators and light towers (these will be directed away from residential properties where possible)
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site, may cause minor traffic delays
- Heavy machinery and equipment operating onsite
- Delivery of materials and equipment
- Some of these works will be noisy and mitigation measures will be in place.

- Trucks,
- cranes,
- excavators,
- concrete trucks,
- loaders, and
- light vehicles
will be used within the works area.
How we’re managing impacts
- Water carts will be onsite to wet down areas to assist in managing dust.
- Traffic controls will be in place, where required, including Variable Message Signage (VMS) boards
- Directing light towers away from residential properties
- Live monitoring of noise, dust and vibration.
