Beaconsfield Parade temporary footpath closure
From 23 October to 3 November 2023, Telstra relocation works are being undertaken prior to the removal of the existing Beaconsfield Parade bridge, as the services are located within the current bridge structure.
Work being done
These works will occur on both sides of the bridge and require changes to pedestrian and vehicle access.
The footpath on Beaconsfield Parade between Church and Siege streets will be closed from 23 October for up to two weeks.
A pedestrian detour will be in place while the works are carried out, utilising the existing pathway nearby.
Vehicle access at the intersection of Gladstone Street and Beaconsfield Parade will be temporarily disrupted during works. Traffic management will be in place to ensure access is maintained.
Telstra will notify their customers directly if there are any anticipated impacts to services.
What can I expect
- works will occur 7am-6pm weekdays and 7am-1pm on Saturdays
- no access to the footpath between Church Street and Siege Street, with a pedestrian detour in place
- traffic management and reduced speeds will be in place during some works, which may cause traffic delays
- ground excavation at various locations
- trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site
- construction noise during the day
- heavy machinery and equipment operating onsite.
Machinery used
- drill rig,
- excavator and
- light vehicles
will be used within the work area
How we’re managing impacts
- traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all pedestrians and road users where required
- works completed in stages to reduce the area of impacted road and walkways
- temporary pedestrian lights and detour signage will be in place.
