Geotechnical investigations, Jamieson Street, Broadford, 3 to 7 March 2025
Geotechnical investigations will take place to assess the ground conditions at the rail access point on Jamieson Street, Broadford. These early works are required, ahead of construction starting on Inland Rail later this year.

Work being done
- Borehole drilling using a small truck mounted drill rig to take soil samples for testing and assessment. Once the works are complete at each location the hole will be filled.
- Excavating and levelling the ground next to the rail corridor at the rail access point on Jamieson Street.
- Locating and mapping underground services.
What can I expect?
- Traffic management will be in place at the Jamieson Street rail access point to facilitate vehicle movement. Please observe all traffic management instruction
- Reduced speed limits of 40km/h near works
- Workers using machinery, equipment, hand tools and service vehicles operating at the Jamieson Street works area
- These works are expected to generate medium levels of noise with some high levels of noise at times. Nearby residents may notice some minor vibration
- Nearby residents can expect some additional construction workers and vehicles in the area.
Machinery used
Non-destructive digging truck, excavators, drilling rig, tray and tandem trucks, workers using hand tools and survey equipment, traffic management equipment and signage.
How we're managing impacts
- Traffic management and reduced road speeds
- Access to private properties will be maintained.
Cancellation of works
Works can sometimes be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, works will be rescheduled.
