Glenrowan utility relocation works

In November and December 2022, our contractor McConnell Dowell will relocate utilities in Siege Street West, Kelly Street, Church Street, Woolshed Road, Gladstone Street and Kate Street to provide power and water services in preparation for construction on Beaconsfield Parade.

Work being done

During this period, there will be temporary restricted access to Woolshed Road and short delays to traffic in Gladstone Street between Kate Street and Woolshed Road.

Gladstone Street, Kate Street, Siege Street West and Kelly Street will also see temporarily reduced lane widths at times. Driveway access may be interrupted for short periods.

Safety exclusion zones will be set up around each area with traffic management in place to ensure safe access.

McConnell Dowell are working with a range of subcontractors to complete the works, including AusNet, and North East Water Services.

What can I expect

  • Temporary interruptions to parking bays in Gladstone Street (a bay at a time to allow traffic diversions)
  • Temporary access requirements to driveways (individual landowners and tenants affected will be door knocked and given notice prior to works commencing)
  • Buses utilising parking bays in Kate Street will be temporarily relocated to Woolshed Road behind the big Ned Kelly statue
  • Further communication to directly affected residents from AusNet regarding potential outages for short periods
  • Limited access to the northern end of Woolshed Road other than to local businesses and residents
  • Reduction in lane widths on Gladstone Street, Kate Street, Church Street, Siege Street West and Kelly Street
  • Minor delays caused by trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the work sites
  • Ground excavation in the identified areas within the map
  • Construction machinery / equipment operating on site
  • Nearby residents can expect some noise during daylight hours.

  • Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users where required
  • Reducing vehicles required onsite
  • Ensuring driveway access is maintained for local residents and businesses.
