Green Street bridge closure and detour (night works only), Wangaratta 8pm-5am, 17 to 28 March 2025
Work being done
Wangaratta’s Green Street bridge will be closed with a detour in place during night works between Monday 17 March and Friday 28 March. During this time, Inland Rail contractor McConnell Dowell will be undertaking works to complete the finishing touches including installation of bridge safety features, handrails, privacy and anti-throw screens.
What can I expect?
- Bridge closed during night works 8pm-5am, 17-28 March
- Green Street bridge will be open outside of these hours
- Detours in place via Dixon Street, Cusack Street and Sisley Avenue during night works
- Access to properties will not be affected during these works
- Noise from machinery and equipment operating onsite
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the Green Street bridge worksite
- If night works are completed before 28 March bridge closure and detours will be removed.
Machinery used
Light towers, truck mounted elevated work platform, power tools and cranes.
How we're managing impacts
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users and pedestrians
- Directing light towers away from residential properties
- Environmental controls in place including live monitoring of dust and vibration.
