Powerline works, Chiltern Railway Station May 2025
To enable the safe running of double-stacked freight trains additional height clearance between the rail and powerlines is required in some locations along the North East line including at the Chiltern Railway Station.
Work being done
Inland Rail contractors will be removing some power cables, installing new poles and cables and completing electrical work inside the station building.
What can I expect?
- Works occurring between the hours of 7am-7pm during the month of May 2025
- Delivery of materials and equipment
- Access to the works area will be via Wills Street and Railway Access Road.
- Traffic management to support plant and other vehicles entering and exiting the works area, may cause minor traffic delays
- Machinery and equipment operating onsite
- Construction noise during the day.
Machinery used
Elevated work platforms, non-destructive digging truck, cranes and light vehicles will be used within the work area.

Traffic management will be in place, please following any directions around powerline works.
