Seymour signalling works
On 17-18 July, McConnell Dowell will undertake signalling works in preparation for the Seymour-Avenel Road bridge replacement to allow sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains.
Work being done
Works will occur adjacent to the North East rail line near the Seymour-Avenel Road bridge and include drilling an underbore for the installation of new signal cables under Seymour–Avenel Road. This method is used for installing underground cables without the need for creating long trenches.
What can I expect?
- Bore drilling is planned for Tuesday 18 July
- Construction noise during the day
- Minor vegetation removal
- Vehicles entering and exiting the construction site, which may cause minor traffic delays
- Heavy machinery and equipment operating on site
- Delivery of materials and equipment.
Machinery used
- drill rig,
- excavator and light vehicles
will be used within the work area.
How we’re managing impacts
- traffic controls will be in place, where required.
