Telstra relocation works Roy Street East
Telstra relocation works are being undertaken prior to the construction of Green Street bridge as the services will be impacted by the new bridge structure. Due to unforeseen circumstances this work was not able to be completed in November as previously notified and will now start on Monday 18 December.
Work being done
Works include using surfacing drilling equipment (under boring) to install Telstra conduits and pits and enable new cabling between Roy Street East and the rail corridor. The service pit will also be upgraded.
The works will be conducted within the nature strip and the rail corridor.
Telstra will notify their customers directly if there are anticipated impacts to services.
What can I expect
- Approved vegetation removal within the project area
- A drill rig located in Roy Street East
- Traffic management and reduced speeds will be in place during some works, which may cause traffic delays
- Ground excavations in various locations
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site
- Noise from construction machinery and equipment operating onsite.
Machinery used
Heavy and light vehicles including trucks, excavator, a drill rig and contractor vehicles will be used within the work areas.
How we’re managing impacts
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users and pedestrians, where required
- Reducing vehicles required onsite.
