Croppa-Moree Road level crossing upgrade
Our contractor Trans4m Rail will continue level crossing and drainage upgrade works on Croppa-Moree Road (approximately 3km south west of Croppa Creek town centre) from Monday 28 February 2022.
Work being done
To enable pavement works for level crossing 917 on Croppa-Moree Road, traffic restrictions (including temporary lane closures) will be in place for approximately 10 weeks. Works will occur between 7am and 6pm Monday to Sunday (additional approvals for Sunday works will be required in April).
These works may cause some minor traffic delays, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
To allow for pavement tie-in works on both sides of Croppa-Moree Road, a temporary traffic lane switch including traffic light installation, will occur to provide a safe work zone during construction.
What is a traffic switch?
Diverting traffic onto a different section of road is referred to as a traffic switch. Switching traffic helps minimise any traffic congestion caused by construction works.
Motorists are urged to follow changing traffic conditions on site, including speed zone reductions, traffic lights and directional traffic signage.
What can I expect
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site
- Construction machinery and equipment operating on site adjacent to live traffic along Croppa-Moree Road
- Delivery of materials and equipment
- Some of these works will be noisy and mitigation measures will be in place
- Some minor delays are expected during work hours.
Machinery used
- Trucks
- paver
- graders
- excavators
- loaders
- rollers and
- water/vacuum excavation trucks will be used within the construction impact zone.
How we’re managing impacts
- Traffic controls will be in place, where required, including Variable Message Signage (VMS) boards
- Water carts will be on site to wet down areas to assist in managing dust.
