Daroobalgie Road, Forbes water and telecommunications relocations
Between July to October 2023, various utilities contractors will undertake early works on Inland Rail’s behalf to relocate water and telecommunication services in the vicinity of Daroobalgie Road, Forbes.
Work being done
These works are required to facilitate the upgrade of the level crossing and the construction of the new crossing loop at Daroobalgie, as part of the Stockinbingal to Parkes project.
Overview of early works
- Relocate existing and install new water main and underbore
- Relocate existing and install new telecommunication cables and cable pits
When are early works occurring?
These utility works are expected to commence from Monday 24th July 2023 and be completed by Friday 27th October 2023.
The relocation works will be sequenced to minimise traffic and other potential disruptions for local residents.
What can I expect?
- delivery of materials and equipment to site
- construction machinery and equipment operating on site
- temporary service interruptions may be required
- impacted residents will be notified in advance
- limited traffic impacts. And no road closures expected.

- vacuum trucks,
- trucks,
- water cart,
- flood lights,
- generator,
- welding equipment,
- hand tools and equipment,
- excavators,
- skid steer (loader with wheels) or Positrack (loader with tracks),
- directional drilling/boring machine,
- light vehicles.
How we’re managing impacts
- Traffic controls will be in place at each road and property access will be maintained for all impacted residents
- Some of these works will be noisy and mitigation measures will be in place.
