Service investigations – Wagga Wagga (various locations)
Throughout April 2023, specialist contractors will undertake additional investigations on Inland Rail’s behalf to locate and map underground utilities near Pearson Street, Edmondson Street and Cassidy Parade.
What can I expect?
These investigations have been assessed through a Review of Environmental Factors under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
We want to reassure residents that starting these investigations now does not mean approval has been given for major construction to begin on the Albury to Illabo section.
They will however enable major construction to start more efficiently once approvals are issued.
Minimal machinery and equipment operating on site.
Work being done
- Drilling of exploratory holes to confirm locations of utility lines.
- Backfilling of drilled holes to restore ground condition.
Machinery used
- Utility light vehicles
- vacuum truck.

- Access to residential properties will be maintained at all times.
