Work being done

Establishment of a project worksite

A project worksite, where worker facilities, plant and material will be located, continues to be established within the railway precinct in Hannah Street, Benalla.

Works will include:

• • Hardstand installed, concrete slabs poured, concrete barriers erected, access roads created, portable site offices installed and environmental controls set up
  • Installation of rail delineation and compound fencing
  • Utility connections
  • Approved vegetation removal.

Generators will be used until a power supply is connected to the site.

Investigation works

Investigations to determine underground conditions and the location of utility services, required to finalise designs, may occur at various locations within and close to the station precinct using non-destructive digging (NDD).

What can I expect?

• Works 7am-6pm Monday to Friday and 7am-1pm Saturdays
• Traffic management will be required in some locations where works are occurring close to roads. Please observe all traffic management instructions and signage.
• Reduced speed limits of 40km/h near works
• Nearby residents may experience some noise and vibration during this time and can expect some additional construction workers and vehicles in the area.

Machinery used

NDD truck, compaction roller, excavators, cranes, tippers, front end loader, wood chipper, concrete trucks, elevated work platforms, trucks and support vehicles.

How we're managing impacts

• Traffic management and reduced road speeds
• Environmental controls will be in place.

Cancellation of works

Works can sometimes be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, works will be rescheduled.
