Daroobalgie level crossing signalling commissioning
With works at Daroobalgie nearing completion, Inland Rail is pleased to announce the commissioning of the active level crossing on Daroobalgie Road.
Work being done
The previous ‘passive’ level crossing will now become ‘active’ using bells, lights and automatic half-boom gates.
The change to an active level crossing will result in an increase in safety for both motorists and pedestrians by providing clear and reliable signals when trains are approaching.
Pre-commissioning activities, to install the new level crossing are underway, with the crossing to be fully operational from Monday 24 February 2025.
Please remain alert when approaching the crossing and obey all signals as the installation works progress.
What can I expect?
- Increased warning signals: Once the upgrade is complete, the crossing will have gates and flashing lights, which will be in operation as trains approach and pass through. Please be aware of the new signals and always obey them for your safety.
- Improved traffic flow: With the active crossing, you can expect a smoother flow of traffic once the project is complete, as the upgraded crossing will help regulate train and vehicle interactions more efficiently.
