Border to Gowrie project update March 2022
This month, the Border to Gowrie team is conducting a range of field investigations, attending local agricultural shows, and continuing to respond to the Queensland Coordinator-General’s (CG) request for additional information as part of the project’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process.

What’s happening in the field?
We’re conducting extensive traffic counts on local and state-controlled roads across the Border to Gowrie project alignment until the end of April 2022. Pole-mounted cameras and automatic tube counts (where traffic is counted by placing rubber hoses over the road) are currently in place and our contractors are working to compile data on road usage. Visit our website to see all current and upcoming field investigations.
Out and about
March saw the much-anticipated return of local agricultural shows across the region. Thanks to all of you who stopped to chat with us at the Inglewood and Toowoomba shows earlier this month – it was great to be back out in the community. Our highlights were the ‘pets in show’ at Inglewood and admiring the works of amazing artists, growers, and crafters from across the region.
EIS status
The Border to Gowrie project remains in the approvals stage as we prepare additional information requested by the CG to support the project’s revised draft EIS.
The revised draft EIS will be subject to a period of public consultation following submission and acceptance by the CG. Timing for additional consultation will be determined by the CG in due course.
Find out more by visiting the CG’s website.
