Border to Gowrie EIS update

The draft Border to Gowrie Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was published by the Queensland Coordinator-General (CG) earlier this year. During this time, members of the community were given an opportunity to view the draft EIS and make a submission, with more than 500 submissions received.

Submissions are currently being assessed by the CG and we will then formally respond. The target completion timeframe for the Border to Gowrie EIS is early 2022.

Appointing major Civil Works Program preferred proponents in parallel with planning approvals is common practice. We will continue to work closely with the CG, and other Queensland Government agencies, to ensure the social, environmental, and economic impacts of the project are appropriately managed.

BHQ JV will take an active role in this process by ensuring concerns raised by the community and the CG are sufficiently considered through the development of their tender design and associated management plans.
