Inland Rail is applying the finishing touches to Benalla Station’s new platform, ahead of passenger services resuming on Monday 31 August.
August 18, 2026

The new station platform is taking shape.
Passengers will board and disembark from the new platform on the Railway Place side of the station as work continues across the railway precinct.
The existing V/Line station building will close temporarily, and passenger services will be offered from interim facilities on the opposite side of the tracks, off Railway Place.
The temporary facilities will include a V/Line ticketing office, toilets, carpark and a coach pick-up and drop-off zone.
From the old station, V/Line customers wanting to catch a train or a coach will need to use the Nunn Street level crossing to access the temporary facilities and the new platform.
The new platform is 180 metres long and will be served by the partially opened pedestrian underpass, ramps and stairs.
