Inland Rail Community Perceptions Survey results provide valuable insight
Our quarterly Inland Rail Community Perceptions Survey continues to provide us with valuable insights into how we can improve our communication and engagement with our stakeholders.
May 17, 2023
In the first community survey for 2023, we received the strong message that you want more information and certainty on how Inland Rail will impact your communities and how we are going to collaborate with you to manage and mitigate impacts.
In line with Australian Government’s response to the Inland Rail Review, released in April, we are now taking a staged approach to deliver Inland Rail and will prioritise the completion of the section of Inland Rail between Beveridge in Victoria and Narromine in New South Wales by 2027.
We are also working towards gaining the primary approvals for the other sections of Inland Rail north of Narromine. To support the primary approvals processes, we will be undertaking further engagement with affected communities and key stakeholders.
As the projects progress from the approvals phase into detailed design, we will have more certainty around the likely impacts, which will enable us to have meaningful conversations with communities about mitigation. We understand that communities want definite answers now, but the stage of design means we are not able to provide these yet.
The next Inland Rail Community Perceptions survey will be emailed to a selection of stakeholders in our database in the coming weeks and we request that email recipients kindly complete the survey.
We value your input and feedback so we can continue to tailor our communication and engagement to make sure we are addressing the issues you are concerned about.
