The Inland Rail Program is a 1600km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges. About the opportunity

As the Program Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of Inland Rail’s strategic objectives and annual strategic planning process. Essential to this role, you will need to ensure there is a structured and collaborative approach to management and reporting of strategic plans and corresponding priority strategic initiatives.  Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk & Program Strategy, you will develop, implement and maintain a strategic planning framework, including the 3-year strategic plan. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of this critical infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing requirements, expectations and benchmarking on strategic objectives.
  • Supporting executive and Board in regard to strategic workshops and strategic plan meeting discussions.
  • Managing the annual strategic planning process including facilitating and agreeing the key priorities and developing actionable plans.
  • Ensuring that leaders are aware of their strategy obligations, including providing advice and support to leaders on good practice in relation to business unit strategic planning.

About you

You should be an accomplished strategic leader with extensive experience in developing and implementing program initiatives while driving change on large-scale capital mega projects. Additionally, you should have experience in presenting to, and facilitating strategic workshops with, executives and boards. You should possess well developed analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Additional you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in corporate or major projects environments which require Board interaction.
  • Proven experience with strategic planning and business change models.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, accounting or similar.
  • Extensive experience in strategy management in a corporate and/or project environment.
