The arrival of Spring has coincided with a wonderful development for the Narrabri to North Star Phase 2 section, with the appointment of Isabella Hall as Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager - Northern NSW.

Lauren Marer (l) and Isabella Hall (r) – your Phase 2 Stakeholder Engagement team.

In her new role, Isabella will oversee communication and engagement activities across all northern NSW sections of Inland Rail between Narromine and the NSW/Qld border.

Isabella is no stranger to Phase 2, having served as the Stakeholder Engagement Lead for four years before she was briefly seconded to oversee a Qld section. She will join Lauren Marer, who was recently promoted to Stakeholder Engagement Lead, in maintaining our close working relationships with the local community.

We are currently in the process of providing the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure with some additional information about biodiversity impacts as part of our approvals process for Phase 2. This means we will shortly be completing more flora surveys along the Phase 2 alignment. We will notify the community once the exact survey dates and times have been confirmed.

Meanwhile, we’ll shortly start progressing preliminary designs for Phase 2 with a focus on refining technical requirements, including for hydrology, and information from updated field investigations.

Close consultation and input from impacted landowners, councils and local agencies informs all stages of the design process. In fact, just this month, we met with representatives from Transport for NSW and the North West Local Land Services on site to seek feedback on proposed interfaces between Inland Rail and their assets.
