Narwonah Material Distribution Centre construction moves ahead
Work at the Narwonah Material Distribution Centre (MDC) south of Narromine is ramping up!
March 30, 2023

More than 215 tonnes of rail was recently delivered by train and unloaded directly at the Narwonah facility to enable upcoming rail line construction.
Next month, our contractor Martinus Rail will install a new rail turnout from the existing Hunter Valley line into the MDC site.
The works will take place 24 hours/day over a 72-hour period from 6pm Friday 28 April to 6pm Monday 1 May.
Following this period, construction activities at the Narwonah MDC will continue 6am-6pm, up to seven days per week until late 2023.
When fully operational in early 2024, the Narwonah MDC will be a staging site for above-track components of Inland Rail, such as ballast, sleepers and rail.
With all materials delivered by train, the MDC will eliminate the need for more than 40,000 truck trips, improving road safety and reduces wear and tear on regional roads.
