Wangaratta Station electrical works, 27 Apr-3 May, 2024
McConnell Dowell will conduct electrical works at Wangaratta Railway Station along a section of Cusack, Spearing and Norton streets between Saturday 27 April and Friday 3 May.
Work being done
Works will include installation of a new power pole in Cusack Street, additional stay wires to help stabilise existing poles and upgrades to power cables in the vicinity of the station precinct.
McConnell Dowell is working with AusNet to minimise the impacts to power supply. Any directly affected properties will be notified by AusNet if power supply interruptions are expected.
What can I expect?
- Works between 7am-5pm Saturday 27 April to Friday 3 May.
- Temporary closure of a section of footpath on Norton Street on Monday 29 April and Thursday 2 May
- Temporary closure of some car parking spaces on Cusack Street East and West, while works are in progress
- Traffic management in and around Cusack Street, Spearing Street and Norton Street, when required
- Trucks, cranes and other vehicles entering and exiting the works areas
- Approved trimming of vegetation • Noise from machinery and equipment operating onsite
- Delivery of materials and equipment.
Machinery used
Heavy and light vehicles including trucks, elevated work platforms, excavator, large cranes and non-destructive digging trucks will be used within the work areas.
How we’re managing impacts
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users and pedestrians, where required
- Reducing vehicles required onsite
- Working closely with AusNet to minimise any power disruptions to businesses and residents.
