Traffic surveys, Wagga Wagga
On 7 September 2023, contractors will set up, monitor and remove camera devices on behalf of Inland Rail to collect traffic data.
Work being done
We will be installing devices and carrying out traffic surveys throughout the Edmondson Street and Best Street surrounds in Wagga Wagga. This will ensure we have a good understanding of how the road network operates in this location and along the Albury to Illabo alignment.
The camera devices will be attached to structures like light poles and will not be placed within or attached to private property. The devices are gathering footage for traffic count purposes and will collect information on vehicle registration plates to understand how vehicles currently travel through the area. Individual personal information is not being collected and registration plates and individual trip information will not be identified in public documents.
No impacts to the community are anticipated to occur.
