NSW/Qld Border to Gowrie Erosion Threshold Velocity testing, September 2024
Inland Rail will be conducting Erosion Threshold Velocity (ETV) testing in September 2024 between the NSW/Qld Border and Toowoomba in Qld.
Work being done
The onsite activity will include the collection of soil samples with an excavator and specialised equipment.
Data from these activities will help determine the final scope and cost of constructing this section.
These activities do not mean approval has been given for major construction to begin on the NSW/Qld Border to Gowrie section of Inland Rail.
The activities will occur between 9am and 4pm. If required, residents will be notified in advance of any out of hours works which may impact them.
What can I expect?
Mobile machinery and equipment operating onsite.
Machinery used
- Light vehicles
- Truck
- Water tank
- Sampling equipment
- Excavator.
How we're managing impacts
- Regular contact with impacted landowners to discuss site activity and any land access requirements.
- Vehicles entering private property to be clean and inspected.
What if work is postponed?
Work can sometimes be postponed at short notice depending on weather and other factors.
We’ll let impacted residents know in advance if work needs to be rescheduled.
