A big month for Inland Rail crew and the Moree community
Our construction contractor, Trans4m Rail, supports team members not just when they’re on the job but also when it comes to the things that matter to them and the community in which they work. In July, Trans4m workers attended NAIDOC Week events alongside members of the Moree community, while a group of smiling graduates were recognised for taking the next step in their careers.

NAIDOC Week celebrations kicked off with a march through Moree town center, followed by the opening ceremony and flag raising at the Moree Memorial Hall on Monday 4 July.
Special guest speaker, former Director General of Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation of SA Nerida Saunders shared her interpretation of this year’s theme, Get Up, Stand up, Show Up!
“This theme is especially fitting for this year’s NAIDOC Week. We all must continue to get up, stand up and show up for systemic change and keep rallying around our mob, our Elders, our community,” she said.
On Wednesday 6 July, members of the Trans4m Rail team were joined by Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications staff and their children for a Family Fun Day at the SHAE Academy.
Earlier in the month a proud group of 22 Trans4m Rail employees obtained their Certificate III in Civil Construction after successfully completing a program in partnership with Trans4m Rail and NSW TAFE Moree.
Funded by the Australian Government, the TAFE program enabled participants to complete practical work on site while studying at TAFE to complete their theory components.
Students can now apply risk management processes and manual skills to operate small machinery and equipment including hand and power tools. They can also operate machines like a loader, excavator and front-end loader.
To date, 64 participants from Trans4m Rail have completed training with TAFE NSW, ensuring local workers develop transferable skills which can lead to future jobs in the construction sector.
Congratulations to all students and teachers involved in achieving these fantastic results.
