Helping improve the habitat for local fish

The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority have benefited from Inland Rail’s commitment to sustainable construction, welcoming the delivery of free logs to provide vital habitat for threatened and native fish.

Timber logs are helping maintain a healthy ecosystem in the Goulburn River.

Our construction partner McConnell Dowell has been working with the catchment management authority to improve the habitat for fish species including the endangered Macquarie perch, Trout cod, and Murray cod in the Goulburn River near Mitchellstown in Victoria.

The timber provides important shelter, food sources and breeding areas needed to maintain a healthy river ecosystem.

Inland Rail and McConnell Dowell are proud to support sustainable programs like these, which are run by the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
