We are committed to working closely with landholders and local communities throughout the design, development and construction of Inland Rail.
Inland Rail Community Consultative Committees (CCCs) provide a forum to share project information, discuss topics of interest, and address any issues or community concerns.
Importantly, they also provide an opportunity for community representatives to share their knowledge and experience on key issues with the Inland Rail team.
The CCCs are made up of specially selected members with a range of backgrounds and interests. Each committee has an Independent Chair.
While the committees are not decision-making bodies, their input and feedback will result in projects that better address community issues and concerns during planning and design.

Committees in New South Wales
In New South Wales, the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) decides whether a committee should be established for state significant projects and we act under the Department’s direction and guidance. DPHI also recruits, appoints and reviews the performance of independent chairpersons.

Committees in Victoria
We do not have CCCs in Victoria. However, two working groups were established to help facilitate community involvement in the Beveridge to Albury project. Both working groups are no longer active.
