We’re grateful to everyone who made time to view the latest Beaconsfield Parade bridge 3D visual animation and visit our Glenrowan shopfront.

Over the recent weeks we’ve had many conversations at our shopfront and answered questions about how Inland Rail will be delivered in Glenrowan.

At Glenrowan, we are replacing the existing Beaconsfield Parade bridge with a new higher bridge immediately adjacent to its current location to allow double-stacked freight trains to pass through safely. Overall, community feedback has been positive about the design.

We have listened to your feedback and incorporated a network of walking paths that improve access between heritage sites north of the bridge and the main street.

A shared pathway separated from the road improves safety for community and tourists. You also liked how the open-span bridge design will improve the accessibly and connectedness of the siege site with Glenrowan Railway Station and other heritage elements.

You asked us about bridge closures during construction and we confirmed vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained across Beaconsfield Parade throughout works.
There will be a period when the bridge will be reduced to a single lane and traffic management will be in place.

We are working hard to minimise the impact of construction on the community.

Construction is anticipated to start in early 2023, with early works beginning late 2022.

We’re here and we’re listening, so let’s keep the conversation going.

Our shopfront is open Mondays 12pm–4pm at 2/34 Gladstone Street, Glenrowan.
