Gilgandra Swim Club setting record pace with Inland Rail support
Gilgandra Swim Club has been announced as one of the recipients who received funding from Round 15 of the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program.

The program funding is set to be put towards Wylas Timing Equipment and medals for club nights and carnivals.
Gilgandra Swim Club offer training for all levels in a fun and supportive environment, to encourage improved swimming skills in the community.
Sally Temple, Gilgandra Swim Club President, said:
‘We are excited to move our club into the next phase of its life, keeping up with the latest technology out there to benefit not only our members but also our amazing volunteers.
‘The Wylas Timing system is semi-automated, so still requires timekeepers but times are immediately sent back to a database providing us with accurate timing and record keeping. Into the future, touch pads and a digital scoreboard can be added.
‘We are most appreciative to be given this opportunity and we thank Inland Rail for their generous support to our club that promotes health and fitness to our youth’.
Stephen Jones, Inland Rail Director of Health, Safety and Environment, said:
‘We are proud to give back to the communities that are home to Inland Rail. The work these organisations do is instrumental to the wellbeing of regional communities.
‘I encourage other non-profit groups to lodge their applications for the next round of funding.
‘The Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program offers funding between $1,000 – $4,000 for organisations in eligible regional areas. The funding supports organisations that contribute to local and regional prosperity, wellbeing, and sustainability.
‘The latest round of funding takes overall support for local communities and associations along the Inland Rail alignment to over $1 million since the program launched in 2019′.
Applications for the next round of funding close on 30 April 2023.
