McConnell Dowell will continue undertaking construction works during August and September near Murray Valley Highway, Barnawartha North.
August works will include directional underground drilling known as “underboring” and relocation of services under the Murray Valley Highway, which may result in some traffic delays. Drainage works and fencing reinstatement will continue around the rail corridor and surrounding overpass embankments.
September works include the preparation of the site for major track lowering that will occur towards the end of the month.
What can I expect?
- Works will occur 7am – 6pm on weekdays and 7am – 1pm on Saturdays
- traffic management and reduced speeds will be in place during some works, which may cause minor traffic delays
- construction noise during daylight hours with mitigation measures in place
- ground excavation at various locations
- trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site, may cause minor traffic delays
- heavy machinery and equipment operating onsite
- delivery of materials and equipment.
Machinery used
Trucks, cranes, excavators, concrete trucks, loaders and light vehicles will be used within the works area.
How we’re managing impacts
- Water carts will be onsite to wet down areas to assist in managing dust
- traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users where required
- environmental controls in place.
