Murray Valley Highway works Barnawartha North
During June and July, McConnell Dowell will continue undertaking construction works for the Inland Rail project near Murray Valley Highway, Barnawartha North.
Work being done
McConnell Dowell will continue undertaking construction works during June and July near Murray Valley Highway, Barnawartha North.
Works include removing the concrete from around the top of each pile and adding capping beams. This is to strengthen the foundations of the existing Murray Valley Highway rail overpass,in preparation for lowering the rail track.
Concrete capping beams are installed on top of the piles, linking them for added strength. Drainage works will also continue alongside the eastern embankment and highway.
What can I expect?
- Construction noise during daylight hours with mitigation measures in place

- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site, may cause minor traffic delays

How we’re managing impacts
- Water carts will be onsite to wet down areas to assist in managing dust
- traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users where required
