Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 construction update May 2022
Track strip between Narrabri and Bellata is nearing completion. Major earthworks north of Camurra through to North Star are practically complete, allowing the team to install the new track.

Works on the Waterloo and Tycannah loops and sidings have commenced. Major drainage and culvert installation works between Narrabri and Bellata have also been progressing well with the first culvert installation occurring within the first month of possession.
Upcoming works in June 2022
Narrabri to South Moree:
- Culvert installation between Valorban Lane and north of Bellata, also between The Clump Road and Murrumbilla Lane
- Level crossing works at Junefield Road, Galathera Lane, The Clump Road, Ten Mile Lane, Penneys Road and Gurley Settlers Road
- Earthworks, including lime stabilisation between Galathera Lane and the Old Newell Highway Bellata to South Moree:
- Culvert installations in an area 1km south of Gurley Settlers Road and 4km north of Gurley Settlers Road
- Level crossing works at Gurley Settlers Road
- Fencing and landscaping.
North Camurra to North Star:
- Completion of major drainage structures
- Capping and bottom ballast placement between Croppa Creek Road and North Star
- Track construction, including the installation of concrete sleepers, rail and ballast between Boonery Park Road and North Star
- Signalling activity between IB Bore Road and North Star township.
