After two COVID-disrupted years, more than 330 guests were on hand to recognise the efforts of Chamber members in raising funds for much-needed public services and advocate for the Narrabri community at state and local government levels.
Some of the Chamber’s successes during the year included securing $450,000 for enhancements to Yarrie Lake, including a test bore to identify potential drought-proofing water sources, fundraising for an ultrasound machine at Narrabri Hospital, and securing chemotherapy facilities at the hospital.
“This event could not have happened without the most generous support of ARTC Inland Rail and our other wonderful local sponsors,” Chamber President, Russell Stewart said.
“Chamber values the long-term partnership we have developed with ARTC Inland Rail and look forward to continuing this relationship for the benefit of the entire community.”
ARTC Inland Rail Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Erica Tudor was delighted to attend the awards event and to present the 2022 Young Entrepreneur Award to winner Will Brooks from MWB Dining and Catering Services (seen above on left, with Erica Tudor in the middle and runner-up Josh Gleeson from J W Gleeson Electrical on right).
“We welcome the Chamber’s continued support of Inland Rail and its advocacy for the economic, social and employment benefits the project will bring for the Narrabri community,” Ms Tudor said.
“Nights like these Business Awards are a fantastic way to acknowledge enthusiastic Narrabri businesses and the work they put in to achieve the best outcomes for the region.”
