No. 93: Road upgrade and temporary closure – Mickibri Road
As part of our construction work, we are upgrading roads near level crossings between Parkes and Narromine. While we do this, we need to temporarily close some public roads to ensure the safety of road users.
The western side of Mickibri Road, Alectown will be closed at the intersection of Claremont Lane, from Wednesday 15 April 2020 until mid-May 2020.
A detour will be in place during the closure. Traffic will be diverted south via Claremont Lane, Mickibri Road and The Sandy Lane, or north on Mickibri Road, Trewilga Road, Newell Highway, Alectown.

What we’re doing
- Building road formations on the western side of the level crossing
- Sealing the road and marking lines
- Installing permanent signage and fencing
What to expect
- Traffic management with detour signage will be in place to assist those impacted by the road closure
- During the work there will be heavy vehicles travelling to and from the work sites.
Once rail has been installed in each section, the rail will be ‘live’ and construction trains will be intermittently passing across the level crossing. For your continued safety, please ensure you obey all signage at level crossings.

Our standard working hours until mid-2020
- 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday
- 8am to 1pm Saturdays.
Intermittent out of hours works until mid-2020
- 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday
- 6am to 6pm Saturdays and Sundays.
