North Star to NSW/Queensland Border section update – July 2024

Our Stakeholder Engagement team were excited to attend the Goondiwindi and Warialda Agricultural Shows earlier this year to answer questions from the community about Inland Rail.

In line with the Australian Government’s response to the Independent Review of Inland Rail, we are taking a staged approach to deliver Inland Rail. The sections of Inland Rail between Beveridge in Victoria and Parkes in New South Wales are prioritised for completion by 2027.

For sections north of Narromine, including North Star to NSW/Qld Border, Inland Rail is still going ahead in northern NSW and Queensland. Land acquisition and access discussions and site investigations are a priority for us to secure land for the Inland Rail corridor.

While the North Star to NSW/ Qld Border section has received all approvals, our project team is available locally to continue addressing any questions you may have about Inland Rail.

Goondiwindi and Warialda Show attendance

Our Stakeholder Engagement team attended the Goondiwindi and Warialda Agricultural Shows earlier this year to answer questions from the community about Inland Rail.

People attending our stand welcomed the information provided in our interactive project flythrough of the North Star to NSW/Qld Border section.

The large-scale overview gave show attendees a good understanding of the scope of Inland Rail and information on each of its 12 sections.
