Seymour-Avenel Road bridge works January 2024
In preparation for the replacement of the Seymour-Avenel Road bridge at Seymour, McConnell Dowell will continue constructing a new temporary access road for Granville Drive during January. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we carry out these works.
Work being done
Construction of a new temporary access road for Granville Drive.
Works will also involve delivery of materials and approved vegetation removal required for utility relocation works.
Seymour-Avenel Road will be closed from 22 January 2024 with detours in place for approximately 12 months or until works are safely completed.
What can I expect
- Works will occur 7am to 6pm weekdays
- Construction noise during daylight hours with mitigation measures in place
- Speed restrictions in place along Seymour-Avenel Road and Granville Drive
- Seymour-Avenel Road closed from 22 January with detour in place via Avenel Road
- Business and local traffic access to Granville Drive will be maintained
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site, may cause minor traffic delays
- Approved vegetation removal in the project area
- Heavy machinery and equipment operating onsite
- Delivery of materials and equipment.
Machinery used
Trucks, woodchippers, loaders and light vehicles will be used within the works area.
How we’re managing impacts
- Water carts will be onsite to wet down areas to assist in managing dust
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users where required
- Environmental controls in place.
