What is a possession and why are they important?
Rail track possessions are critically important for the completion of the Inland Rail project, as they allow our team and contractors to safely complete works and construction without trains operating.

Between 14-16 September the rail line between Sydney and Melbourne will close, allowing Inland Rail to accelerate works in Victoria including lifting and installing the Green Street bridge steel superstructure at Wangaratta.
The possession also allows essential maintenance and other project works to be carried out.
Our construction partners for the Beveridge to Albury section, McConnell Dowell and John Holland, will conduct an extensive program of rail and construction work from Wallan to Wangaratta.
