Upcoming construction and traffic changes across Mitchell Shire
Mitchell Shire residents and road users are advised temporary road closures will be in place over the coming weeks as Inland Rail carries out important construction activity.

At Broadford, construction at the Marchbanks Road bridge site is accelerating with a four-day road closure in mid-July, before a longer closure later in the year to demolish and re-build the bridge.
Marchbanks Road bridge will be closed for essential piling works from 7pm Thursday 9 July to 7am Monday 13 July. A detour will be in place via the Hume Freeway Clonbinane interchange.
Asphalting, line marking and landscaping are continuing at the Hamilton Street and Short Street bridge sites.
At Wandong, work will continue to construct the new roundabout at the Broadford-Wandong Road and Rail Street intersection, install drainage and public lighting, build access roads, and complete landscaping.
From Monday 13 to Saturday 25 July sections of Epping-Kilmore Road, Broadford-Wandong Road bridge, Broadford-Wandong Road and Rail Street, Wandong will be temporarily closed from 8pm-6am to complete asphalting and line marking works.
Overnight closures will be staged, so that they do not occur at the same time. Residents and road users should refer to electronic signage for up-to-date traffic changes and road closure details.
Further north, Inland Rail has completed the lowering of the V/Line and Australian Rail Track Corporation tracks under the Hume Freeway at Seymour, and the site is being demobilised. The track lowering and bridge strengthening at Tallarook will be completed later this year.
Inland Rail is on track to complete construction of sections between Beveridge, Victoria and Parkes, NSW by the end of 2027.
