Wangaratta Station Precinct improvements take shape
Key features of the Wangaratta Station Precinct design are starting to take shape, revealing improvements to accessibility, connectivity and visual amenity.

The Wangaratta community has told us safety and accessibility across the station precinct is important to them. Our modern infrastructure will deliver these benefits as we build a fast freight line that will connect Australia.
Our contractor McConnell Dowell is constructing a new accessible pedestrian underpass with lifts, ramps and stairs; a new station platform with shade structures; and a new car park on the western side of the station.
We’ve also restored connectivity at the station entrance by filling in the “Dive” to create a better connection between the station and Norton Street businesses.
Over the coming months, other improvements the community will start seeing include construction of an additional 26 car parking spaces, an 18-metre ‘kiss and ride’ facility and installation of artwork sympathetic to the heritage features of the station.
We’re on track to complete works in Wangaratta in 2025.
