Wangaratta Station precinct works 8-31 January 2024
Construction in and around the Wangaratta Station precinct will continue in January 2024.
Work being done
McConnell Dowell will continue construction works in and around the Wangaratta Station precinct during January.
Works include the relocation of Telstra services and the start of construction of the new west platform.
Green Street bridge will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from 8 January, with works starting on the removal of the bridge fencing and streetlights. Works for a temporary piling pad will also begin.
Temporary lighting will also be installed along the One Mile Creek pedestrian path.
What can I expect
- Approved vegetation removal within the project area
- Green Street bridge closed between Norton Street and Roy Street West with detours in place
- Traffic management in and around Green Street, Cusack Street, Roy Street West, Spearing Street and Norton Street, when required which may cause minor traffic delays
- Ground excavations in various locations
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the work site
- Noise from construction machinery and equipment operating onsite.

Heavy and light vehicles including:
- trucks
- cranes loaders
- excavators
- rollers.
How we’re managing impacts
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users and pedestrians, where required
- Reducing vehicles required onsite
- Environmental controls will be in place
